Steve A. Brandenburg, 61, passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings, Mont. He was very strong and fought his whole life for each and every day.

Steve was born Nov. 7, 1952, in Janesville, to Warren and Velma (Elet) Brandenburg. He was the oldest of five children; Karla, Russ, Jim, and Mark. Steve graduated from high school at the age of 17 in Beloit. He later earned an Associate’s Degree from Sheridan Community College and eventually a Master’s Degree in Project Management from the University of Phoenix.

When Steve was 20, he met Sylvia Page. On Sept. 14, 1974, they were united in marriage. They had three children together while residing in Buffalo, Wyo., for 12 years. Steve was working for the BLM and in 1989 was transferred to Lewistown, Mont.

Steve had numerous hobbies and his favorite was spending time and working on their home with his wife. He also had an unbelievable sense of humor.

Steve is survived by his wife Sylvia; children, Ross and Katie, Shaun and DeAnn, and Sara and Brandon; grandchildren, Evelyn and Madison; siblings, Karla and Charlie, Mark and Dayleena, Jim and Lorri, and Russ and Lynn; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation and viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Creel Funeral Home Chapel, 601 W. Main St., Lewistown, Mont. Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, at the funeral home. Cremation will take place following the services.
