RUSSELL C. FERO

Russell Claude Fero, 81, of Whitewater, died Feb. 1, 2014, at Fairhaven Senior Living in Whitewater. He was born on Sept. 28, 1932 in Lima Center, to Claude and Dorothy (Matzke) Fero.

He graduated from Whitewater High School.

On April 10, 1954, he married Enid Sietz in DuBuque, Iowa.

He worked for 10 years as a carpenter for Marquardt Builders and then worked for more than 29 years for the City of Whitewater Parks and Recreation, retiring in 1995.

He enjoyed woodworking, old cars and arts and crafts.

Survivors include his sons; Jeffrey (Jean), Sussex, and James (Jackie), Whitewater; grandchildren, Lyndley, Fort Atkinson, Jessica, Whitewater, Andy (Carol), Menomonee Falls, Jared (Lisa), West Allis, Alison, Sussex; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Audrina Sauter and Maxwell; step-grandchildren, Marissa and Robert; step-great-grandchildren, Cade, Mason and Noah; sister-in-law, Beverly, Whitewater, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at First English Lutheran Church, Whitewater, with Rev. Jerald Wendt officiating. Burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery, Whitewater.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the services at the church Wednesday.

Memorials to Touched by a Paw, Rainbow Hospice, First English Lutheran Church or to Fairhaven Senior Living are suggested.
