RONALD A. TANK

Ronald A. Tank, 78, of Elkhorn, died Jan. 4, 2014, at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center. He was born Dec. 18, 1935, in Waupun, the son of the late Albert and Kathleen (Galland) Tank.

Ron served in the US Army National Guard. He was united in marriage to Carol F. Beuthling on Feb. 6, 1960, in Burlington. Carol died Aug. 3, 2000.

Ron married Betty Katzman on Dec. 27, 2003, in Prairie Du Sac. Ron was employed for over 42 years with Lake Geneva Spindustries. He worked maintenance at St. Patrick’s Catholic School in Elkhorn for over 20 years. For the past 24 years, Ron has mowed for Evergreen Golf Course. Ron was an avid bowler bowling in a league for over 40 years. He coached boys’ and girls’ basketball at St. Patrick’s Catholic School, he worked the chain gang at all the Elkhorn High School football games, and he loved to golf.

Ron’s greatest joy was his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in sports. He is survived by his wife Betty: four daughters, Becky (Steve) Buhler, of Delavan, Linda (Kevin) Zach, of Elkhorn, Barb Vogt, of Elkhorn, and Roberta (Paul) Nolden of Rio; son-in-law Wayne Vogt, of Elkhorn; grandchildren Margaret, Malorie and Ross Vogt, Natalie and Scott Buhler, Elizabeth and Brian Nolden; three great-grandchildren, Claire, Mya and Bowyn; a brother, James Tank, of Busnell, Fla.; and a sister Marge (Richard) Schrader, of Waupun. Ron is further survived by his extended family who loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol.

Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory, 730 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be private at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Elkhorn.
