ROSE L. TARRANT

Rose Louisa Tarrant, 101, of Elkhorn, and formerly of Beloit, died Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn.

She was born Jan. 10, 1912, in Beloit, the daughter of William F. and Rose A. (O’Neill) Welch. Rose was a 1930 graduate of Beloit High School. She married Lyle H. Tarrant on Jan. 19, 1935, in Beloit. He predeceased her on June 19, 1970.
Rose was formerly employed by Adams Korn Kurls, was manager of Adams Credit Union, and retired from Brown & Swiss Association in 1987. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Beloit, where she belonged to the Altar Society and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elkhorn. Rose was a member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter #56. She was a RSVP volunteer and a loyal fan of the Monday Morning Dixieland Band.

Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Shafer of Norco, Calif.; son, William (Mary Jo) Tarrant of Mission Viejo, Calif.; son-in-law, Martin (Mary) Wacha of Janesville; seven grandchildren, Ann Staddan, Michael (Rubi) Shafer, Susan Shafer, Sheri Tarrant, Kirstin (Ben) Hellman, Susan (Fred) Blizzard, and Lynn (Jay) Packard; eight step grandchildren, Steve Tarrant, Cheryl Huggins, Robert Tarrant, Thomas Tarrant, David (Mary) Tarrant, Philip (Kathy) Tarrant, and Aaron and Andrea Bunderson; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents; daughter, Mary L. Wacha; two stepsons, Willard Tarrant and Robert (Virginia) Tarrant; two sisters, Leola Good and Florence Whitford; brother, William Gray; and son-in-law, Frank Shafer.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, in Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 2222 Shopiere Rd. Beloit, with the Rev. Gary Krahenbuhl officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. in the church.

Memorials may be given in her name to Beloit Regional Hospice or Aurora VNA Hospice.
