Dorothy Katherine Barker was born on Jan. 18, 1921 to Adolf and Julia (Stang) Tober. She has found peace Monday, April 1, 2013 at the age of 92.
She was the sixth daughter in a family of girls. The family lived in Spring Prairie Township in Walworth County.
Dorothy attended Arrow Lodge School, East Troy High School, Racine Kenosha Rural Normal School and Whitewater University.
She taught elementary schools in rural areas and later joined the staff of Elkhorn area schools in the Tibbets area for 22 years. She retired in 1983 after 34 years in the classroom.
On March 4, 1944 Dorothy married Loren Barker and resided on Bowers Road in LaFayette Township.
She was preceded in death by her five sisters, Helen (Truman) Barker, Theresa (Francis) Boyle, Eleanor (Zennor) Barker, Winifred (Emil) Fusek and Margaret (Fred) Schoenbeck. She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held April 4, 2013. Interment took place at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
