Help erase hunger with the Lady Whippets Feb. 9
The Whitewater High School girls basketball team will host a food pantry drive Tuesday, Feb. 9 when the team welcomes Evansville to WHS for a 7:15 p.m. tipoff. In addition to collecting non-perishable food items for the food pantry, the team will also be holding a sports equipment and apparel drive and will accept gently used sports-related items that they plan to donate back to the Whitewater community.
The first 120 people that donate will earn a chance during halftime to win a team t-shirt, basketball, Whippet car flag or black polar drawstring bag. Winner or not of a prize, all members of the community are encouraged to take part in the donation drives for food and sports equipment and apparel, and stay to watch the defending state championship girls team in action.
Donations can also be dropped off during the day on Feb. 9 in the main office of Whitewater High School, 534 S. Elizabeth St., Whitewater, WI.
