Gorgeous music will fill the air on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. as the UW-Whitewater Music Department presents its annual Gala Holiday Concert in Young Auditorium. This holiday tradition is filled with joyous sounds from nearly every ensemble and takes place throughout the facility in the lobby, terrace, and stage.

Small ensembles play prior to the performance, during intermission and post concert. The event includes a silent auction in the Fern Young Terrace starting at 7 p.m. through the end of intermission.

The silent auction offers numerous items to bid on including: a music themed quilt created by Linda Kimball with the machine quilting done by LaDonia Kyle; a weekend get-away in Door County; a pie-a-month for a year from Poyer’s Farm Market; four ski passes and an overnight stay at The Grand Geneva; a hand-woven tote with Amish leather handles; a hand carved wood half-sized preening Loon; various restaurant gift certificates; a two-tiered decorated cake from The SweetSpot and more.

Tickets are $15 for general public, $10 for over 65/under 18 for advance purchase though there is an additional $2 per ticket if purchased at the door. All ticket purchases include a $1.75 facility fee. Tickets are available by calling (262) 472-2222, online at tickets.uww.edu or at the Greenhill Center of the Arts Box office, weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Music Department scholarship fund.
