Students to speak on public schools Feb. 19

The Whitewater Area League of Women Voters will host Public Schools: A Student’s Perspective at 7 p.m., Thursday, February 19 in the Cravath Lakefront Building in Whitewater.

The program will feature a panel of students from Whitewater High School who will give their perspectives on the status of our Public Schools here in Whitewater. Specifically, they will discuss the effect on their school of the many legislative changes made in education in Wisconsin.

Panelists for the program will include: Troy Marinkovic, Emma Stutzman, and Wentao Guo. Each of them has studied government in Mr. Gregory Stewart’s class at WHS – a  one semester course required of all public school students in the state of Wisconsin.

The goal of the panel discussion is for members of the community to gain a new perspective on local schools from current Whitewater High School students.
