Police seek vandalism suspects

Whitewater police are reporting that on May 16, at approximately 2 a.m., two individuals in their early 20’s vandalized the Birge Fountain, located at 402 W. Main St. in Whitewater.

Video surveillance revealed that a female wearing a light blue or green colored top and dark shorts with her hair pulled back can be seen climbing onto the fountain and appeared to be trying to steal a spear from the fountain. A male with short hair, dark t-shirt, and grey shorts then climbs onto the fountain and eventually is able to pull one of the spears out and can be seen running away.
