Two charged in Whitewater burglaries

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday, March 17 for two men charged with stealing metal from a Whitewater company more than two years ago.

Matthew G. Kompski, 35, of Jefferson, and Thomas R. Zunker, 25, of Eagle, are charged in Walworth County Circuit Court with four counts of burglary of a building or dwelling as a party to a crime.

According to the criminal complaint, the pair are suspected of breaking into Keinbaum Iron and Metal four times between Aug. 1 and Oct. 19, 2011, and stealing scrap metal, which they sold to Waukesha Iron and Metal for $3,905.
