Music Mosaics to present Piano Trio

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Music Department has created a Music Mosaics Series featuring the talents of various faculty members and ensembles in the Light Recital Hall in the Greenhill Center of the Arts.

The series benefits the Music Department’s scholarship fund for students with exceptional talent and academic excellence. The next concert in this season’s series will feature the UW-Whitewater Piano Trio on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 7:30 pm in the Light Recital Hall.

The UW Whitewater Piano Trio is comprised of Myung Hee Chung on piano, Benjamin Whitcomb on cello and Leanne League on violin. The two pieces on the program include, Piano Trio in G minor, Op. 3 by Ernest Chausson and Piano Trio No. 2 in F major, Op. 80 by Robert Schumann.

The trio has been playing together for several years, and will take the program on tour in Iowa this year. Each year, the ensemble goes on a tour in the Midwest, last year to Michigan and the previous year to Minnesota.

Tickets ($7 for general public; $6 for those over the age of 65; $3 for those under the age of 18 and UW-W students) for the Music Mosaics events can be purchased or by calling (262) 472-2222 or by visiting the Greenhill Center of the Arts Box office Monday-Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
