Make jewelry, build with Legos and play board games

Irvin L. Young Memorial Library in Whitewater has announced activities slated for next week to bring people in out of the cold.

Maker Monday will resume on Jan. 20 from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. with a bead and jewelry-making project out of magazines, from unique and colorful bracelets and necklaces to key chains.

This program is free and open to middle school and high school aged children as well as adults. In just one hour participants will walk away wearing a piece of jewelry they made themselves.

Join in on an afternoon of saving magazines from the recycling bin and creating colorful beads.

Lego Club meets the third Tuesday of each month for children in Kindergarten through 4th grade. The winter sessions will kickoff Tuesday, Jan. 21 from 4 to 5 p.m.

Legos will be provided and children will use their imaginations to build their own designs and/or form groups to build designs as a team. Registration is required.

Board Day at the library will be offered Friday, Jan. 24 from 1 to 4 p.m. Kids of all ages are invited to enjoy time with friends while playing a variety of board games and putting puzzles together.

All of these activities aim to offer fun, learning experiences indoors on cold, winter afternoons.
