Sponsor or adopt a Whitewater snowflake

The snowflakes that decorate the streets of Whitewater, including those pictured above along Main Street, can be sponsored or adopted.

Downtown Whitewater’s Snowflake Program offers community members to celebrate cherished friends and family members by sponsoring or adopting one of the 52 lighted snowflake ornaments that grace the light poles downtown every winter.

Sponsor a Snowflake

Cover the annual care and upkeep of one of the 52 downtown Snowflakes for $100. Also provide the name of the person being honored with the sponsorship and a card containing that information will be presented to share with the honoree as well as a public acknowledgement at the end of the season.

Adopt a Snowflake

Beginning in 2014, adopted Snowflakes, with a price tag of $250, will be identified and tagged so gift recipients can visit his or her personal Snowflake downtown each holiday season. A card containing the honoree’s name will be presented along with public acknowledgement of the kind act at the end of the season.

And don’t worry, the cleaning, re-wiring, hanging, taking down and storing of the snowflakes will be taken care of each year.

To sponsor or adopt a snowflake, email the following information to director@downtownwhitewater.com and send or drop off a check made out to Whitewater Community Foundation, P.O. Box 188, 150 W. Main Street, Whitewater, WI 53190.

Information needed: sponsor name, contact information and number of snowflakes being sponsored or adopted, names (if desired) of snowflake recipients and an address to send a card to the recipient announcing the honor.

By sponsoring or adopting a snowflake, members of the community will be celebrating a loved one in a unique way as well as supporting Downtown Whitewater’s effort to ensure a thriving, vibrant downtown.
