On Dec. 7 the UW-Whitewater Community Optimist Club helped put 600 people from Whitewater and surrounding communities in the holiday mood during the 21st annual “Breakfast with Santa.”

Several members of the UW-Whitewater Student Optimist Club also volunteered their time support the efforts of coordinators Carol Miller and Connie Murray in making the event successful.

UW-Whitewater Dining Services helped with supplies and equipment for the event and the Whitewater Food Pantry provided a number of tickets to some families.

This year for the first time children visiting Santa were given a print of a photo taken by Optimist Club president Kim Adams or able to retrieve the photo digitally from a secure website.

Whitewater High School carolers and the Robert Wiley Dean and Don Deal lower brass duet provided music for the event.

According to Adams, money raised from the event is re-invested into Breakfast with Santa next year.
