City to collect yard waste

The City of Whitewater Department of Public Works will conduct a leaf and yard waste collection the weeks of Nov. 11 and Nov. 18.  Residents should place bagged yard waste on the curb during those weeks.

Yard waste must be bagged in clear or transparent bags; it will not be collected if placed in non-transparent or black bags.

Biobags are available at City Hall Finance Department at no cost while supply lasts.

Note that brush will not be collected during the yard waste collection. Residents requesting brush collection should call (262) 473-0542 and make an appointment for pickup on Tuesdays.

The city reminds residents that leaves, yard waste and brush can be disposed of at the compost site during operating hours. Saturday compost hours are 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.  The compost site will remain open on Saturdays until Nov. 23, weather permitting.

It is against city ordinance to deposit any yard waste debris on city streets or right of ways other than days designated by the City of Whitewater.

For more information call the City of Whitewater Street/Parks Department at (262) 473-0542.
