Library to host author Katherine Perreth

Author Katherine Perreth will be speaking at the Irvin L. Young Memorial Library at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19.

Perreth’s book, “Making Lemonade With Ben: The Audacity to Cope,” was a finalist in the Reader’s Favorite International Book Award contest winning the Silver Award for 2013 in the Non-fiction Inspirational category.

The book chronicles 16 years of a child growing up with a mental disability caused by a brain hemorrhage at the age of seven. In a candid and yet humorous tone, the author recounts how Ben’s struggled and how it affected the entire family. With love and support, Ben has grown up into an inspiring young man.

Perreth, a Wisconsin author, will discuss her book and her family’s challenge. The program is free and open to the public.
