Public invited to premiere of ‘Around the Corner with John McGivern’

Wisconsin Public Television is inviting members of the community to a special free premiere screening of the new Whitewater episode of the hit public television program “Around the Corner With John McGivern. “

The event will be held at

7 p.m. Monday, April 1 at UW-Whitewater Young Auditorium, 930 Main St. in Whitewater.

No registration is required.

The Young Auditorium staff invites attendees to arrive beginning at 6 p.m. for live Barbershop Quartet Music by the Country Gentlemen, refreshments and children’s activities.

Attendees can meet McGivern, hear some of his humorous anecdotes from around the state, and watch the Whitewater show where McGivern goes back to college to visit, not to study.

See what University of Wisconsin-Whitewater means to the community and learn what it’s like to own a sports bar, coffee shop or bakery in a college town.

Now in its second season, “Around the Corner With John McGivern” expands its view to communities across Wisconsin. Join the Emmy Award-winning actor as he explores living, working and playing in Wisconsin’s unique communities.

The broadcast premiere of the Whitewater episode airs at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4 on WPT.
