Learn how to care for old photos, documents

The Hoard Historical Museum, 401 Whitewater Ave. in Fort Atkinson will offer a special history workshop from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 16 in its Jones Family Gallery.

The museum’s collections curator, Karen O’Connor, will lead the workshop, titled “How to Care for Your Photographs and Paper Documents.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring with them some of their old photos, negatives, and paper documents that they would like to have assessed by O’Connor.

This workshop is the first of four history workshops taking place in 2013 at the museum.

Registration is required. Current members of the Fort Atkinson Historical Society will be admitted free of charge. The fee for non-members is $10 per person.

The second history workshop, Genealogy 101, takes place from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, and focuses on how to research the family tree.

A third workshop takes place from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, and focuses on researching the history of your home, business, or other structure.

The fourth workshop takes place from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28 and features how to care for your antique fabrics.

The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
