Santa Cause raises $100,000 for local charities

The fourth annual Santa Cause Tree Festival was held Nov. 29 through Jan. 4 in Williams Bay. This season $100,000 was raised for the Charities of Christmas from the tree festival Freezin’ for a Reason, and sponsorships, with the checks sent out in early April.

The Charities of Christmas consist of Boys & Girls Club of Walworth County, Norman Barr Camp, Water Safety Patrol, Agape Home and School, Circle of Friends, Dan Green’s Touch a Life, Heal a Heart, Inc., Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-Central Wisconsin, and Tree House Child and Family Center.

Santa Cause organizers say there will be no photos released of the check presentation to abide by the Safer-At-Home orders in place to help fight the spread of COVID-19.

This year’s success is possible because of the business, restaurant and personal sponsors, Freezin’ for a Reason, founding families and individuals who participate and support through donations and purchases. More than $365,000 has been raised and donated to the charities over the past four years.
