Walworth man allegedly grew marijuana

An initial appearance is scheduled for Oct. 5 for a Town of Walworth man charged with growing marijuana in Darien.

Timothy W. Bares, 52, was charged Aug. 31 in Walworth County Circuit Court with manufacturing or delivering marijuana.

According to the criminal complaint, a Walworth County sheriff’s deputy and a conservation warden questioned Bares at South Shore Bar and Grill in the Town of Walworth on July 12, and Bares admitted that he grew marijuana. Bares said he started by growing the plants in his home before moving them to grow sites, according to the complaint.

Police led the deputy and warden to a spot about two-tenths of a mile east of S and D Town Line and Salt Box roads where police recovered 22 marijuana plants from three grow sites, according to the complaint.
