Special induction

Students from Big Foot Union High School are inducted as new members of the National Honor Society May 21 in a ceremony at George Williams College. They were selected by the chapter’s faculty council for meeting high standards of scholarship, service, leadership and character. BFHS students inducted were: Linda Alcozer, Colton Berg, Claire Beyers, Braden Buchholz, Ryan Davenport, Meghan Dykstra, Sophia Foster, Thomas Freytag, Mikayla Hibl, Maxwell Hildebrandt, Christian Karabas, Leslie Lavariega, Molly McEneany, Abigail Peterson, Jaqueline Sanchez, Gunnar Smith and Emily Vacula. Each year the chapter sponsors several service projects for the school and community. In the last few years projects have included food drives, Thanksgiving baskets, volunteering at Lakeland School and raising money for a school in Haiti. The National Honor Society ranks as one of the oldest and most prestigious national organizations for high school students and features chapters in more than 16,000 high schools.
