Learn how to build a place for pollinators

The April 25 Audubon meeting will feature a pizza party and the program, “Building a Place for Pollinators” at the Lion’s Field House in Williams Bay.

Reservations are required to attend the pizza party and a small fee is charged for the meal. It will begin at 6 p.m.

No reservations are required for those only planning to attend the program, which is being sponsored by the Lakeland Audubon Society and will begin at 7 p.m. but please do not arrive prior to 6:45 p.m. to allow adequate time to clean up following dinner.

The program on pollinators is free and open to the public, and will feature Beth Goeppinger, a naturalist at Richard Bong State Recreation Area for 23 years. Goeppinger has a background in environmental education and has been a lifelong student of nature. Her specialties are birds, plants and bugs.

Whether you are starting from scratch or want to enhance current gardens, discover the best plants, practices, and ideas to attract and help a variety of pollinators as well as their place in local ecosystems.

The Lions Fieldhouse is located on the north side of Williams Bay. From Highway 67 either direction, turn onto Stark Road, across from Kishwauketoe Nature Conservancy.
