Feb. 13 dinner to honor area law enforcement

Men and women of area police departments will be the honored guests at a “Stay True to the Blue” dinner event on Feb. 13 at The Abbey Resort, 269 Fontana Blvd., Fontana.

The event will honor officers and staff serving Fontana, Linn Township, Sharon, Walworth and Williams Bay, and their spouses. The event will be hosted by the Walworth-Fontana Rotary Club and underwritten by local businesses whose guests will be in attendance as well as those interested from the general public.

“In today’s culture it is important that we express our appreciation and gratitude to the men and women who keep our communities and businesses safe and secure,” organizer Rich Austin of Walworth’s The Golden Years Retirement Village.

“The ‘Stay True to the Blue’ event pays tribute to those police officers and staff for the job they are doing each and every day, and for the spouses who support them.”

The “Stay True to the Blue” event will start at 5:30 p.m. and end at 9 p.m.. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. with entertainment following. There will be a cash bar serving soft drinks, beer and wine. The entre will be Balsamic Short Ribs paired with Orange Vodka Glazed Salmon and vegetarian dinners are available.

Tickets for the event cost $50 for each attendee and checks should be made payable to Walworth-Fontana Rotary.

Community members who would like to be part of this celebration can send their name, telephone number, the names of any guests and their check to Stay True to the Blue c/o Walworth State Bank, P.O. Box 66, Walworth, WI 53184.

All requests should be sent no later than Feb. 1. These names will be checked off at the door upon arrival that evening.
