Candidates able to circulate nomination papers as of Dec. 1

Parties interested in running for an elected position in the villages of Walworth, Sharon, Fontana and Williams Bay were able to begin circulating nomination papers on Tuesday.
In the Village of Walworth, the seats of Village Trustees Kent Johnson, LeRoy Nordmeyer and Ed Snyder, IV, will all be up for election on the April Ballot.
In the Village of Williams Bay, the seats of Village Trustees Jim Killian, David Jameson and Gregory Trush will be up for election.
In the Village of Fontana, the seats of Village Trustees Rick Pappas, David Prudden and George Spadoni will all be up for election.
In the Village of Sharon, the seats of Daniel Rambatt, Pamela Schutt and Robert Sachs will be up for election. Sachs resigned recently and the board will determine whether or not to fill Sachs’ seat prior to the April election at a future meeting.
Terms for all trustee seats are two years.
Additionally, in the villages of Sharon and Fontana the seat of the municipal judge will be up for election, held by Denise Gibbons in Sharon and David Jensen in Fontana. The term is four years.
Candidacy paperwork is available for all interested in running at their local village clerk’s office. Candidates are required to file Nomination papers and a Declaration of Candidacy with the clerk’s office by 5 p.m. on the first Tuesday of January.
Paperwork generally includes a campaign registration statement, nomination paper for nonpartisan office and a declaration of candidacy. A registration statement should be filed prior to circulating nomination papers and prior to spending or collecting funds for the election.
All paperwork must be filed on time with the city clerk’s office in order for candidates to be placed on the ballot for the April election.
