Public meeting set regarding Highway 12 in Genoa City

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Southeast Region will have a public involvement meeting to discuss the rehabilitation of Highway 12 and Highway H in Genoa City from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Genoa City Village Hall, 715 Walworth St., Genoa City.

The purpose of the work is to rehabilitate the roadway surface and improve the safety and traffic operation of the intersection. A roundabout and signalized alternative had been considered, and the signalized intersection was determined to be the best alternative, according to the Department of Transportation.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning the project. Maps showing the project details and temporary traffic control and management will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.

Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Gilbertson at the WisDOT Southeast Regional Office, 141 NW Barstow St., P.O. Box 798, Waukesha, WI 53187. Citizens who are hard of hearing and require an interpreter may request one by contacting Gilbertson at least three working days before the meeting via the Wisconsin Telecommunications Relay System (dial 711).
