St. John’s of Elkhorn offering VBS, pool party

People attend a poolside worship service hosted by St. John’s Church at Sunset Park, Elkhorn, last summer. This year’s event will be at 10 a.m., Sunday, July 16 and offer free access to the pool for attendees as well as food tickets for the first 150 guests. The church will also host Vacation Bible School, July 10-14, which will feature a free family dinner, followed by a lesson, songs, activities and games.

St. John’s Church, 104 S. Broad St., Elkhorn, will offer Vacation Bible School July 10 through 14 for kids 4 years old up to those who have completed sixth grade.

The evening program will begin with a free family dinner from 5:30 to 6 p.m. followed by a lesson, songs, activities, and games from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

“This year’s theme is ‘Gadgets & Gizmos,’ emphasizing how we are each uniquely wired and wonderfully made by God,” Pastor Tom De Groot states in a press release.

Registration is open to the public and free to all participants. Registration can be done the first evening, online at stjohnselkhorn.com/vbs or by calling the church office at (262) 723-2901.

The public is also welcome to attend a poolside worship service and party at Sunset Pool, Devendorf St., Elkhorn, on Sunday, July 16 at 10 a.m.

The outdoor service will include baptisms, music until noon, and a celebration of the completion of Vacation Bible School.

Attendees will have free access to the pool following the service and the first 150 guests will receive a ticket for a free hot dog, popcorn and water.
