A 29-year-old man convicted sex offender recently moved to a residence in the Town of Sugar Creek.

According to a press release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, Ronald R. Boss has moved to Wisconsin from Illinois and resides in Sugar Creek Township near the intersection of Highway H and Highway A.

Boss was convicted in the State of Illinois of aggravated sexual abuse of a minor in 2010, the release stated, and his known victims are teenage females, about 16-years-old.

Boss will be under supervision of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and as part of the supervision requirements he is subject to 24-hour enhanced electronic monitoring, including the use of GPS technology.

As rules of supervision, Boss is not allowed to have contact with anyone younger than 18 and is not to be present anywhere frequented by minor children.

Boss is not wanted by the police, however if anyone has information of Boss engaging in illegal activity or in violation of his rules of supervision, they are asked to contact either the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office at (262) 741-4400 or the Division of Community Corrections at (262) 741-6360.

The press release said citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate, or harass registered sex offenders will not be tolerated. Further, such abuse could subject those who commit such acts to criminal penalties and potentially end law enforcement’s ability to conduct community notification.

“We believe the only person who wins if community notification ends is the sex offender, since sex offenders derive their power through secrecy,” the release stated.

“Community notification furthers the interest of public safety and it is our belief that a better-informed public is a safer public.”
