First Congregational UCC to hold Fun Fest this weekend

The First Congregational United Church of Christ, 76 S. Wisconsin St., is holding a Family Fun Fest from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 12 to raise money for several community service groups including: Hope Now, Inc., the Elkhorn Area Food Pantry, Habitat for Humanity in Walworth County and the Lakeland Animal Shelter.

The Family Fun Fest is designed with families and children in mind, including a bounce house, dunk tank, games for the kids and families to play for prizes, as well as a food tent offering hot dogs, brats, chips and soda.

Tickets for the different activities and games will be available for purchase, but may also be purchased with the donation of a non-perishable item for the Food Pantry or donation of an item for the Animal Shelter. This year there will also be several prizes available by silent auction.

Activities and games will take place all around the church building and Elkhorn Area Food Pantry located on the corner of South Wisconsin and Geneva Streets, across from Pharmacy Station, in downtown Elkhorn

All proceeds from the games, activities and silent auction will be equally divided between the four local service groups. The event raised almost $500 for the local non-profit groups last year.

There will be information available describing the purpose and mission of all of the service groups as well as representative from the groups to answer questions. There are a number of possible volunteer opportunities for people to get involved beyond the day’s fundraising.
