City of Elkhorn Police arrested a 38-year-old Darien man June 24 who allegedly exposed himself to an adult female on June 19 on North Broad Street.
William McCleery, of Darien, has been charged with one count of lewd and lascivious behavior, exposure, according to the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access website.
A statement released by the department last Monday said at about 9:40 a.m. on June 19 the Elkhorn Police Department received a complaint regarding a male subject exposing his genitalia to an adult female.
The victim reported she was walking north, using the east sidewalk on North Broad Street between West Jefferson Street and West Page Street, when McCleery allegedly stopped his vehicle, yelled “hey,” exposed his genitalia to the victim and then drove away.
The female told police she had observed the vehicle pass her on North Broad Street once prior to stopping.
The press release from Captain Jon Anzalone of the City of Elkhorn police department said several helpful tips were received as a result of information released last Monday. The release said the additional information enhanced details initially received from the victim.
McCleery is scheduled to appear in court for an initial appearance at 10:30 a.m. on July 16 at the Walworth County Judicial Center.
