Truck rolls over on highway ramp

Driver appeared to escape serious injury

The driver of a semi-trailer truck that rolled over on a highway exit near Elkhorn Friday morning appeared to escape serious injury even through the crash demolished his truck.

According to a Town of Geneva police officer Robert Linder, the driver, who was from Indiana, was walking and talking after the crash, which occurred about 8:20 a.m. on the ramp linking westbound Highway 12 to Highway NN.

Linder said a witness who called 911 immediately after the crash told police the truck left the ramp and rolled over once or twice – spilling it contents of drywall joint compound beside the ramp.

The driver was taken to Aurora Lakeland Medical Center, Elkhorn, by ambulance. His condition was not immediately known.

The cab of the truck was listed to Four Star Transportation of Melvindale, Mich.

The ramp was closed for two hours to facilitate cleanup of the crash site, according to state transportation officials.
