An East Troy man whose gun was used in the fatal shooting of another East Troy man Jan. 2 is scheduled to go on trial in November.

Tyler M. Odell, 22, appeared in court in custody June 27 for a status conference, which his attorney, Steven Govin, said was scheduled to ensure the defense had all the available discovery. Govin told Judge David Reddy he now has all of the discovery and said the matter has not been resolved.

Govin requested a three-day trial on a non-speedy basis but said negotiations could be ongoing toward a plea agreement. The trial was set for Nov. 27 to 29 with a final pretrial conference Nov. 13.

Odell and Robert M. Ster-ling, 31, of McHenry, Ill., are charged in the shooting death of David A. Bauspies at Odell’s apartment Jan. 2.

A final pretrial hearing is scheduled for July 19 for Sterling, and a three-day jury trial is set for July 31 to Aug. 2.

Sterling is believed to have fired a fatal shot at Bauspies with Odell’s gun during a game of Russian Roulette at Odell’s East Troy apartment on Jan. 2.
