Hometown Sausage to celebrate Spanish culture

Hometown Sausage Kitchen, W1184 Highway L, East Troy, will be celebrating Spain and Market Independence this month.

The public is invited to visit the East Troy facility from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturdays during July for information, samples and recipes to preserve the peak-of-seasonal products. Hometown will offer a recipe each week on cooking and preserving foods that are in season.

Showcasing flavors

Hometown will be sampling new products imported from Spain with a showcase dinner from 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, in honor of Fiesta de San Fermin.

Owner Elena Bisabarros who is from Spain, Managing Chef John Hudoc and Executive Chef Thomas Cicero, have created a dinner menu and are planning activities to represent Pamplona (Navarre, Spain).

“I will teach you the song and dance that you need to know if you ever decide to have the real experience and travel to Pamplona,” Bisabarros said. “We will also watch the running of the bulls as it happened in Spain, the morning of July 8 from streaming services and then we will run our own version with our special fireworks and bull brought from Pamplona.”              Bisabarros said the outdoor meal will include a steak accompanied by traditional Spanish tapas and her homemade flan for dessert.

The dinner is a reservation only event; cost is $45 per person.

Because the dinner and entertainment will be outside, it will be weather dependent. In the case of inclement weather, call Hometown at (262) 6423264 to check for any cancellations.
