Man dead after one-car crash in LaGrange

A 58-year-old Madison man is dead after his car swerved off the road and hit a tree Friday afternoon.

According to a press release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, Marc R. Semrow was westbound on Highway 12 at about 3 p.m. on Dec. 19 when the 2014 Nissan he was driving began to swerve, crossed the centerline, and entered the field on the south side of the road. The vehicle continued through the field until it hit a tree and stopped.

The crash was several hundred yards off the road near W5905 Highway 12, west of Highway H in the Town of LaGrange.

Rescue Squad members from the Town of LaGrange arrived on scene prior to the sheriff deputies and administered life saving measures to the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle. Semrow was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The press release indicated a medical event may have contributed to this crash and an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death in this matter.

The matter is still under investigation.
