At its meeting Monday, the Delavan-Darien School District Board received an update on the new food service program the district began using this fall. Taher Professional Food Service was awarded a contract to serve the district in May.

Taher Regional Vice President Jim Madden made a presentation to the board about the changes Taher has made to the district food service program. He also introduced Beth Dudzinski, the program’s full-time food service director.

Madden detailed all of the new things Taher has brought to district cafeterias, including new menu items, scratch cooking as often as possible, customizable food options, a fruit and vegetable bar that helps meet federal standards in a way that is appealing to kids, new recipes and Chef Jeff Fliss.

Note that the board will next meet on Oct. 30 instead of Oct. 28 so the board can certify the tax levy.

In November, the board will meet just once, on Nov. 18. There will not be meetings on Nov. 11 or Nov. 25 as would normally take place.
