Man allegedly stole, pawned rings, tools

An initial appearance was scheduled to resume May 5 for a Whitewater man charged with stealing jewelry and tools and pawning them.

Eric D. Kienbaum, 37, was charged April 26 in Walworth County Circuit Court with burglary of a building or dwelling and theft of movable property valued at $2,500 to $5,000.

A Town of Richmond resident reported four rings missing after Kienbaum had been at their home installing Direct TV cable on Jan. 24, according to the complaint. Two of the rings, all of which were valued at $4,000, were found to have been pawned by Kienbaum at the Coin Shop in Janesville on Jan. 25 for $50, according to the complaint.

Keinbaum’s brother also reported multiple tools missing from his shed in the Town of Richmond while he was on vacation in March. Seven of the tools including a cutter, welder, nailing gun, jigsaw, multi-tool, nail gun and power tool set, were found pawned by Kienbaum at Pawn Daddy and EZ Pawn in Rockford, Ill., according to the complaint.
