Fans available for those prone to heat injury

Walworth County residents who need a fan to help stay cool as the temperatures rise this week can pick one up at area libraries or the East Troy Village Hall. The fans are for people who are prone to heat-related injuries and don't have adequate cooling in their homes.

County distributing fans at area libraries, municipal building

Walworth County Division of Public Health has partnered with community organizations to help distribute box fans throughout the county. With increasing temperatures and humidity comes an increase in risk for heat related injuries.

Fans are intended for individuals who do not have adequate means to remain cool in the summer months and are more prone to heat-related injuries.

Fans are available during hours of operation at the following locations while supplies last, limit one per household:

  • Darien Public Library, 47 Park St.;
  • Aram Public Library, 404 E. Walworth Ave., Delavan;
  • East Troy Village Hall, 2015 Energy Dr.;
  • Lake Geneva Public Library, 918 W. Main St.;
  • Matheson Memorial Library, 101 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn;
  • Walworth Memorial Library, 525 Kenosha, St.;
  • Irvin L. Young Memorial Library, 431 W. Center St., Whitewater; and
  • University of Whitewater Anderson Library, 800 W. Main St.
  • Barrett Memorial Library, 65 W. Geneva St., Williams Bay.
