Unused prescription drugs can be dropped off at specified locations across Wisconsin–including several sites in Walworth County–on Saturday, Oct. 26.
The state is participation in the National Prescription Drug “Take Back” Day.
Anyone with unwanted, expired or unused prescription drugs can drop them off at participating sites between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. A list of participating locations can be found at www.dea.gov.
The following collection sites are in Walworth County:
University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Hyland Hall, 809 W. Starin Road, Whitewater. Collection will be on Thursday, Oct. 24 only.
Village of East Troy Police Department, 2015 Energy Drive, East Troy.
Village of Sharon Police Department, 125 Plain St., Sharon.
Walgreens Drug Store, 351 Edwards Blvd., Lake Geneva.
Walgreens Drug Store, 939 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn.
Wisconsin residents dropped off 23 tons of drugs at 180 sites during the last “Take Back” day in April. Last year, both drop-off days resulted in more than 30 tons of prescription drugs being handed over.
