On Oct. 6, the Whitewater Whippets’ girls swimming team took on Burlington at Burlington High School and lost, 129-41.

“Despite the loss to Burlington, the girls posted 35 best times and some very impressive swims,” head coach Gina Foucault said in a recap about the meet.

Ten different girls ended up swimming multiple best times in the meet. Four girls dropped their previous personal records by at least three seconds, while Sage Spear lowered her time by 11 seconds in the 200 IM.

Ireland Marinaro and Morgan Radaj went under the 0:30 mark in the 50 freestyle and Sierra Minton went 6:35.18 in the 500 freestyle, which was over 30 seconds better than she swam last season.

The team’s next meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at Whitewater High School against Edgerton and Platteville/Lancaster.
