The rain from last week played havoc on the tennis courts as a scheduled Tri-angular match turned into a dual meet against Columbus for the Whippets who went on to claim victory 5-2.
“What I was most pleased with was the improvement I saw out of most of our players since the weekend. Izzy and Andi at No. 1 and No. 2 weren’t able to pull out wins, but they are really starting to play some nice points. They are working on their strategy and not just pushing things back in the court,” coach Tim Nelson said.
“That is actually the hard part, now we just need to keep working on the strokes to become more consistent,” he added.
Indeed, aside from the two losses, the rest of the team was able to pick up the slack and carry the load. All three doubles teams played well and also claimed victories.
