The Big Foot boys basketball team threw the monkey off its back last week with its first victory of the season over visiting Clinton.
Three days later, the Chiefs started a streak.
Big Foot outlasted visiting Williams Bay in overtime Monday night for a 72-68 non-conference victory that came on the heels of a 43-27 Rock Valley Conference win over visiting Clinton on Jan. 10.
With the two wins, the first for new head coach Hunter Price, the Chiefs improved to 2-7 overall and 1-6 in conference play.
Price said both wins hopefully start to validate the message the coaching staff has been trying to send.
“I think the wins result in more belief,” he said. “As coaches, we can try as hard as we can to send a message, but unless there are results, the buy in is tough.
“So when the boys see what their hard work can and will accomplish, I believe that the buy in increases. But overall, I’m just happy for the boys. They deserved both of them.”
