Don’t look now, but the Big Foot football team is on the doorstep of a berth in the WIAA playoffs.
The Chiefs overcame an early 7-0 deficit last Friday night to pull out a 34-21 Rock Valley Conference victory over visiting McFarland.
Big Foot, which won for the third straight game, improved to 4-2 with three regular-season games remaining. One victory in those last three will secure a trip to the post-season.
“We’re playing pretty good football right now, not perfect by any means, but our offense is starting to kind of find what we’re going to be this year,” Big Foot coach Mike Welden said. “On defense, if we could stop giving up some really big plays, they’re playing some pretty consistent football, too.”
