The state’s top scorer brought his game to Big Foot on Tuesday night for a WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal matchup.
And Milwaukee Lifelong Learning junior Qwan Jackson didn’t disappoint, as he poured in a game-high 37 points.
But it was the Chiefs’ more balanced attack that stood up in the end.
Big Foot held a 30-point lead at halftime and never looked back in a convincing 91-54 victory that improved them to 10-13 overall.
Next up is a regional semifinal matchup Friday at the state’s top-ranked team, Greendale Martin Luther, at 7 p.m. The winner advances to the regional final Saturday against either fourth-seeded Lakeside Lutheran or fifth-seeded Lake Mills.
The win Tuesday was a big one in the program’s development, Big Foot coach Jeff Fenrick said.
“(It was a) great win for us,” he said. “First home tournament game in over 10 years, and we took advantage of playing at home.
“All you ask for is to be able to play another 36 minutes, and that is what we have…”
