This isn’t exactly the kind of start first-year Big Foot softball coach Troy Hummel had hoped for.
And it has nothing to do with how things are progressing on the field.
It’s all about Mother Nature – but the Chiefs certainly aren’t alone.
The winter weather that continues to batter the state has forced outdoor spring sports inside for what may seem like never-ending practice sessions.
“(Tuesday) we played a Nerfball game without using gloves,” Hummel said. “(Wednesday) we will live pitch and go to the weight room. Basically, (we’re) trying to keep their interest.”
