Two Big Foot-Williams Bay girls tennis players moved onto Wednesday’s Division 2 sectional meet at Whitewater following Monday’s East Troy Subsectional.
Meredith and Clare Heckert, at No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively, both advanced to Wednesday’s sectional.
Meredith Heckeret beat Monroe’s Grace Tostrud 6-1, 6-1 to advance, while Clare Heckert beat McFarland’s Berit Spilde 6-0, 6-1 and Jefferson’s Morgan Graf 6-2, 6-1.
The Chiefs’ other subsectional win came at No. 3 doubles, as the team of Alyssa Nor and Claire Beyers beat Monroe 6-2, 6-1, before they fell 0-6, 3-6 to East Troy.
Also ending their seasons were Hannah Schmidt at No. 3 singles, 2-6 ,1-6 to East Troy’s Victoria Pott; Sonja Ericson at No. 4, 3-6, 6-7 (7) to Jefferson’s Karyn Duddeck; Maddie Palmer-Izzy Klesmith at No. 1 doubles, 3-6, 5-7 to Edgerton; and Sam Hartwig-Lexi Zabrouski, 1-6, 2-6 to Whitewater.
