Baseball takes pair of wins from East Troy during matchups April 19 and 22

Offense was in plenty of supply Tuesday afternoon for the Big Foot softball team.
Big Foot scored in each of its first four at bats and rolled to a 21-2 Rock Valley Conference victory over visiting Brodhead.
The win improved the Chiefs to 8-5 overall and 7-4 in the RVC.
Big Foot jumped out quickly with a seven-run first inning and ended things via the 10-run rule with a nine-run explosion in the fourth.
Yesenia Gonzalez led the Chiefs with three hits, including a double, a run scored and four RBI.
Other leaders included Courtney Schoenbeck (two hits, three runs, RBI, double), Alyssa Block (two hits, four runs, RBI, double), Sophia Trakjavich (two hits, two runs, two RBI, triple), Morgan Stalker (two runs, two RBI) and Abby Snudden (two hits, four runs, RBI).
Riley Davis and Schoenbeck combined to hold the Cardinals to just one hit, four walks and struck out four. Both of Brodhead’s runs were unearned.
The win Monday came on the heels of an 8-2 nonconference loss April 22 to visiting Milton.
Milton jumped out to an 8-0 lead to take control. The Chiefs added single runs in both the sixth and seventh innings on RBI hits by Schoenbeck and Snudden that scored Gonzalez and Davis.
Stalker, Schoenbeck and Davis combined to work in the pitcher’s circle for the Chiefs.
Big Foot opened the week with a 5-0 RVC win April 21 over visiting Edgerton. The Chiefs took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning and never looked back.
Collecting RBI hits were Gonzalez, Snudden and Lauren Paulsen. Davis worked all seven innings to pick up the win, as she allowed two hits, two walks and fanned 11.
Big Foot was back in action Thursday at Brodhead, followed by a home nonconference tilt Friday with visiting Fort Atkinson.
Baseball enjoys 2-1 week
The Big Foot baseball team opened play with a pair of 7-6 RVC wins April 19 and 22 over East Troy and Edgerton, but closed the week with a 16-9 nonconference loss April 23 to visiting Badger.
Big Foot led Monday’s matchup 7-6 after three innings, but the Badgers scored 10 runs combined in the fourth, fifth and sixth to take control.
The Chiefs were saddled with 11 errors.
Connor McCarthy sparked the Chiefs’ offense with three hits, including a double and a triple, two runs scored and three RBI. Scott Day chipped in with two hits and an RBI, while Brendan Kelley drove in two.
Kelley took the loss, as he allowed 12 hits, seven earned runs, five walks and struck out five in 4-1/3 innings. McCarthy worked the final 2-2/3, and allowed five hits, one earned run and one walk.
Big Foot scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning April 19 to pull out the 7-6 RVC win over East Troy.
Collecting two hits apiece were Zak Greco (two runs, RBI), McCarthy, Kelley (run, RBI) and Matt Gramm (run, RBI).
Jack Hereley and McCarthy combined to work all seven innings on the mound. McCarthy, who allowed two hits, two earned runs, four walks and struck out three, picked up the win.
