A tough one-point loss in the opening round of the Badger Holiday Tournament sent the Big Foot girls basketball team into the consolation bracket.
And that’s where the Chiefs took out a few frustrations on their opponent.
Big Foot bounced back from the loss to Slinger with a 16-point victory the next night to salvage a split in the two-day event.
Big Foot fell 42-41 to Slinger in the first round, before it handed Cudahy a 57-41 defeat to win the consolation bracket.
The Chiefs raced out to a 30-11 halftime lead over Cudahy. Big Foot was outscored by three points in the final 18 minutes, but never gave back its early lead.
Morgan Courier led the way with 11 points and five assists, followed by Courtney Schoenbeck with 10 points, eight assists and 10 rebounds. Olivia Briggs added nine points and six rebounds, while Brooke Wellhausen had eight points and five rebounds.
Carly Snudden chipped in with seven rebounds.
The opener Dec. 29 was a tale of two halves, as Big Foot trailed by seven at the intermission, before a second-half rally fell just one point short.
Morgan Stalker led the way with 10 points, followed by Payton Courier with 10 points and nine rebounds and Snudden with seven points. Briggs added six points and five rebounds, followed by Morgan Courier with five assists and six rebounds and Schoenbeck with six rebounds.
Big Foot (6-4 overall, 4-2 RVC) hosted Edgerton Thursday night and travels to Evansville Tuesday, Jan. 12.
