Girls soccer having a perfect season

The Big Foot-Williams Bay girls soccer team broke open a close match Tuesday night to keep its perfect spring alive.
Three goals in the second half did the trick, as the Chiefs took a 2-1 lead and turned it into a 5-1 Rock Valley Conference win over visiting East Troy.
The win improved the Chiefs to 9-0-0 in the RVC and 9-0-1 overall.
Mari Hubanks put the Chiefs on the board in the second half with an unassisted goal at the 53:08 mark, followed by another by Rachel Heidenreich three minutes later.
Big Foot closed out the scoring at the 1:03 mark on a goal by Annalise Floody off an assist by Morgan Grunow.
Hubanks and Schyler Isham scored in the first half to give the Chiefs a 2-0 lead before the Trojans cut the deficit in half.
Natalie Boldger had four saves for Big Foot.
The win Tuesday came on the heels of a 1-0 victory May 2 at Palmyra-Eagle. Heidenreich scored the game winner off an assist by Morgan Courier.
Goalie Rachel Gooding had four saves for the Chiefs.
Big Foot was back in action Thursday night at Whitewater. The Chiefs host McFarland Saturday, May 11, at 6 p.m.
Tennis wins three
All three doubles teams were victorious Tuesday afternoon to lead the Big Foot-Williams Bay boys tennis team to a 5-2 home win over Whitewater.
Winning doubles matches were D’Jaelen Evans-Jacob Waro at No. 1, 6-1, 6-0; Will Huerth and Nick Klesmith at No. 2, 6-0, 6-1; and Neil Stilin-Jared Schnupp at No. 3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
Winning singles matches were Seb Lauterbach at No. 1, 6-0, 6-1, and Adam Kolnik at No. 2, 6-1, 6-0.
Big Foot finished fourth overall at Saturday’s Stoughton Invitational. Oregon was first, followed by Stoughton, Janesville Parker and the Chiefs.
Kolnik was first at No. 2 singles with two victories, while Lauterbach was fourth at No. 1 with a 2-1 overall record. Huerth-Klesmith and Stilin-Schnupp each had victories at No. 1 and 2 doubles, respectively.
Big Foot opened its week with dual victories of 4-3 over visiting McFarland April 30 and 6-1 over visiting Wilmot May 1.
Winning singles matches against Wilmot were Lauterbach at No. 1, 6-0, 6-0; Kolnik at No. 2, 6-1, 6-0; and Adrian Hernandez at No. 4, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.
Victorious doubles teams were Evans-Waro at No. 1, 6-4, 6-4; Huerth-Klesmith at No. 2, 6-2, 6-2; and Schnupp-Stilin at No. 3, 6-4, 7-5.
Big Foot was back in action Wednesday at Jefferson and Friday at Fort Atkinson. The Chiefs compete in a tournament at Racine Prairie at 8:30 a.m.
Softball edges East Troy
Visiting Big Foot erased a one-run deficit with three runs in the top of the sixth inning to defeat East Troy 9-7 last Wednesday afternoon.
Morgan Stalker had three hits, a run scored and two RBI to lead the way, followed by Danielle Young with two hits, three runs scored and two RBI. Kristen Glade added two hits, two runs scored and an RBI, while Brooke Berryman had two hits and a run scored. Jen Petkoff and Marissa Kovarik each drove in runs for the Chiefs.
Petkoff went the distance to earn the win, as she allowed 11 hits, five earned runs, two walks and struck out six.
The win over the Trojans came on the heels of a doubleheader split April 30 with visiting Parkview. Big Foot lost the first game 6-3, but bounced back to win the nightcap 7-4.
Kayla Crump had three hits in the opener, while Berryman, Young and Kovarik each added two. Young and Kovarik also had RBI, while Berryman scored two runs.
Stalker led the way in the 7-4 win with two hits, including a double and a triple, a run scored and three RBI. Brittany Schoenbeck also drove in two for the Chiefs.
Petkoff picked up the complete-game win, as she allowed six hits, four earned runs, five walks and struck out one.
Big Foot was back in action Tuesday afternoon against visiting Jefferson and Thursday against Edgerton. The Chiefs travel to Evansville Friday, followed by a home doubleheader Saturday against Brodhead-Juda, beginning at 10 a.m.
