There’s been a youth lacrosse team in the area, the Elkhorn Kwik Stx for some time and soon there will also be a high school club team.
On Sunday, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., a high school lacrosse clinic will be held in the fieldhouse at Elkhorn Area High School. The clinic is free and open to high school kids of any age and ability.
According to Tony Pegg, who will coach the team, which will be the Elks, if there’s no lacrosse team where kids live they can play elsewhere but are required to choose the club that’s the closest in proximity.
“Kids in any area can be part of the Elkhorn program as long as there isn’t a local program where they live or one offered closer than Elkhorn. That means it’s open to high school kids in Elkhorn, Delavan, Lake Geneva, Williams Bay and so on,” Pegg said.
Dates for additional clinics and informational meetings in the area will be announced once details have been confirmed. Practices for the new club will begin in mid to late February.
