Elkhorn lost 206-225 Aug. 24 to Burlington in a Southern Lakes Conference girls high school golf dual meet at Browns Lake Golf Course in Burlington.
The Elks played Wilmot last Wednesday in a SLC dual meet at Evergreen Country Club, and played Waterford Sept. 5 at Rivermoor Golf Club in Waterford.
Afton Malvitz led the Elks with a 53 over nine holes against Burlington. Hailey Czubernaut shot a 56, and Ava Greeley and Rachel Devries each finished at 58.
Raelee Koehnke and Taylor Myszkewicz each finished at 49 and led Burlington.
Elkhorn lost 186-217 Aug. 23 in a SLC dual meet against Union Grove at Evergreen’s East Course.
Afton Malvitz paced the Elks with a 49. Greeley finished at 54, Czubernaut carded a 55 and Jena Jacobs finished at 59.
Megan Koch led the Broncos – the three-time defending SLC champions – with a 39.
On Aug. 21 Elkhorn competed in the Rock Valley Conference scramble at Prairie Woods Golf Course in Avalon.
The scramble format called for two schools to be paired, and the Elks were paired with Jefferson. Jefferson’s No. 1 golfer paired with Elkhorn’s No. 5 golfer. Jefferson’s No. 2 and Elkhorn’s No. 4, Jefferson and Elkhorn’s No. 3 golfers, and Elkhorn’s No. 1 golfer and Jefferson’s No. 5 golfer also played together.
Elkhorn’s Payton Ross and Jefferson’s Alexa Owens won the tournament with a combined score of 77 on the par 71 course.
Elkhorn’s Grace Christian and Jefferson’s Courtney Draeger finished at 80. Czubernaut and Jefferson’s Hailey Hotter finished at 85, and Greeley and Elkhorn’s Megan Gleisner carded an 86.
The Elks and Eagles finished with a combined team score of 328. Cambridge and McFarland finished second (338), Clinton and Lakeside Lutheran came in third (349) and Beloit Turner and East Troy finished fourth (363).
With only one match this past week, Elks coach Mark Malvitz said the Elks would use the time away to continue to practice and improve.
“Overall, it was a decent week,” Mark Malvitz said of last week. “The girls are committed, and striving to make gains every day.”
