Nick White at No. 3 singles and Sid Babu and Joe Bosman at No. 3 doubles remained undefeated after the Elks won 5-2 at home May 5 against Wilmot in a Southern Lakes Conference boys tennis dual meet.
Elkhorn lost 4-3 in a SLC dual meet at Badger.
Coach Donna Neshek said the match against Badger was for first place in the SLC. Badger won the dual meet after a three-set victory at No. 2 singles.
Badger’s Jordan Lauer won the first set 6-4 and the Elks’ Colin Passler won the second set 7-6 (3) before Lauer won the third set 6-3.
White beat Carson Derda 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 at No. 3 singles and Ian Tuck, at No. 4 singles, beat Graham Bartal 7-6, 6-0.
Bosman and Babu beat Jack Wright and Nash Hale, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 doubles.
“Conference is around the corner,” Neshek said. “We are looking forward to winning against Badger and hoping to take conference this year.”
Against Wilmot, the Elks’ Brant Christensen beat Kalyn Coose 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.
White beat Nolan Souders 7-5, 6-2 at No. 3 singles and Tuck beat Ben Labicki in straight sets at No. 4 singles.
At No. 1 doubles, Brenden Garcia and Nathan Nanda beat Wilmot’s Shawn McCluskey and Trevor Schwarz, 6-1, 6-2.
Babu and Bosman beat Wilmot’s Ethan Dahlen and Kevin Kummerow 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 doubles.
